The more you read, the sooner you will think in that other language. The fastest way to acquire the words you need to understand everything is to read a lot. With comics you also have the pictures to help you understand the story. They are also a lot more fun to read than some boring text book. They can show you a very spoken form of the language. Not all comics are alike. What you will want to read will also depend on your level.
